Hope Matters
Here I am again, Hope Buddies, to disrupt your lives a little bit, because mine just got a jolt…again. 😆 I’m going to do my best to keep this short and sweet (Well, maybe not so sweet.), simply because I believe too many words will take away from the time you need to think deeply about this.
In Proverbs 18:21 (MSG), it reads “Words kill, words give life; they’re either poison or fruit—you choose.” More familiarly, it states, “Death and life are in the power of the tongue; and they that live it shall eat the fruit thereof.” (KJV)
Now, in some of the circles I’m in. This is a familiar passage, especially when we are encouraging someone to speak positively about a person or circumstance. In other circles, I hear things like, “Your life follows your words.” However you’ve heard it, it’s about believing the words that flow from our mouths bring to fruition what we expect to happen with ourselves, other people, and our situations. Now that we’ve covered that. Let’s get to why I showed up for you (and me) today.
We can say and believe, but do we have the audacity to back up what we believe and say. Lack of audacity, which is defined as a willingness to take bold risks, has left some people standing in the middle of the road of their lives only believing and saying. The people I know whose lives follow their words are audacious enough to move in whatever direction their words are going.
If you’re not at the believing and saying point yet, I encourage you to first practice positive self-talk and mind carefully what you say about others as well as situations. If you are at the believing and saying point and find nothing happening, ask yourself,
Where’s my audacity?
(This question hit me hard, y’all. 🤦🏾♀️) Then, be audacious. Practice it daily. Don’t just stand there in the middle of the road talking. Level up your expectations by moving in a direction.
That’s it.
Hope Buddies, I challenge us all to hope in believing, saying, and being audacious. ☕️
Coffee Matters
I’ve been doing it wrong, Coffee Buddies, and have been telling other people to do it wrong. So, I’m publicly correcting my mistake. I might not have said it on this platform, but I’ve said it enough to fix it here. 😁
It’s about coffee storage. I’ve been keeping mine in the fridge (refrigerator) or freezer. Welp, that’s not the right place to put it. You should put it in an air-tight container, preferably one of which you can suck the remaining air out. Coffee does not like air or moisture; it can ruin the flavor. *deep sigh for all the coffee I’ve ruined* 🙄
Now that I know better, I’m going to do better. Air-tight containers…loading. Now, Coffee Buddies, I don’t plan on spending a lot of money on these. I went to a reputable coffee shop, and they had ones they’d purchased at Walmart that worked just fine, because the coffee was AMAZING. 💃🏾
Give yourself the gift of better, consistent-tasting coffee. Go air tight. So…
What are you hoping and sipping this week?
I appreciate you taking the time to read this hopeletter about my life and coffee. Please share with a friend who could use a little hope or coffee recommendation.
I loved this and needed it today, thank you!
