Hope Matters
Hi there, Hope Buddies. Welcome to another day and Hope Mini #3.
Yesterday, I shared my physical results of having a stronger core.
Sitting and standing more upright
Improved balance
Less bumping into things
If I were to correlate these physical results to my personal life, they would be:
Elevated confidence
Recognizing the need to care for myself and acting on it
Improved focus
Strengthening my personal core requires that I have the following operating in my life: belief and faith in God, knowing what self-care is for me, keeping important actions at the forefront of my brain, and surrounding myself with people who support me in meaningful ways.
Confidence
I’m able to keep my head up and be light for others, because I know Whose I am as well as who I am. I didn’t always recognize this, and I shrank because of it. Now, I always felt I belonged to God. However, the who-I-am part was a struggle for a long time. When I began to study the Bible more and my spirit came into agreement with what God says about me and the promises He’s made me, I began to show up in the world sitting and standing a little straighter.
Self-Care
This one has taken a long time, y’all. Believe it or not, I’m still working on it, and I’ve been on this spinning rock over 40 years. Just last year, I discovered what truly makes me take deep breaths and pause in my life.
Focus & Purpose
When I’m sure of what needs my attention in each facet of my life and can keep making progress on each of them intentionally, I’m not easily distracted or “bumping into” things that will derail that progress.
Now, I know I mentioned four things that strengthen my core, but I’ll dive into the last one tomorrow. Stay tuned for Part 3. 😁

Coffee Matters
Coffee Buddies, what do you need to go with a strong core? You guessed it. Strong coffee. So, you all know I didn’t just buy a cup of coffee on my visit to French Truck Coffee, right? 😏 And I couldn’t just go to New Orleans and not come back with something with chicory. So, I bought the Commander’s Palace Coffee & Chicory. This coffee blend is so rich and dark; it’s almost inky.
I tried it in a pour over. Disastrous (kinda knew that would happen 🤷🏾♀️). So, I settled on my drip coffee maker. Better. But, I had to play around with the ratios of coffee to water to get the taste I wanted and taste more of the notes I saw on the bag. This is one I, for sure, have to put a little flavor in. So, I’ve been sweetening (just a tad) with SweetLeaf Stevia Sweet Drops in either English Toffee or Chocolate. Either of them sends the chocolate note into overdrive, and y’all know I love chocolate. Here’s a glimpse of what it looks like.
What are some results you experience from having a strengthened core?
I appreciate you taking the time to read this hopeletter about my life and coffee. Please share with a friend who could use a little hope or coffee recommendation.
